Manufacturing process.
Today we are going to talk about the rod, a very important product in our company, on which depends the creation of our electrowelded mesh. The first step we take at Metalmalla is to make sure that we acquire the raw material in its best conditions, for this matter we demand the quality certificate of each and every one of the coils or rolls that we acquire to manufacture our products.

The customer is the one who determines the quality he wants, as well as the diameter and the cut length for the rods. With this information, the order is sent to production to start the manufacturing process.

Types of rods.
In Metalmalla we currently work with different types of wires and qualities:

• Grey drawn wire (both plain and drawn).
• Galvanised drawn wire (plain)
• Stainless wire (Inox, AISI 304 and AISI 316)

Sectors with the highest consumption
Normally the metallurgical sector is the one that generates the highest consumption of rods. Display manufacturers use them for the hooks production, mesh for hangers and decoration that can be found in small shops as well as in large supermarkets.

They are also used by manufacturers of household utensils: kitchen utensil holders, clothes racks, coat racks, bottle racks, fruit bowls, bucket handles, mop holders, etc.

On an industrial level, wire is used to create fan guards, grills for industrial refrigerators, bottle racks and dividers for food distribution. To withstand the low temperatures of refrigerators, stainless steel wire is used as it is the only material approved by the food industry to be in contact with foodstuffs.
Advantages of the rod over other elements.

Its resistance and durability are greater than other elements such as plastic or cardboard and it offers a wide range of possibilities due to its ease of handling.
